Julian's Charmed life is over
Julian McMahon is quitting the hit series Charmed. The 34-year-old Aussie actor confirmed his shock decision exclusively to TV WEEK during filming of the show's 100th episode. It'll be his last appearance as 'the devil incarnate' Cole on the popular show, which stars Alyssa Milano, Holly Marie Combs, and Rose McGowan as sisters who use magic powers to fight evil.
"It feels weird to be celebrating when I'm dying, but I guess it's a good episode to go out on," Julian admits. "It's bittersweet, because the show meant a lot to me."
The former model initally joined the show for one season, but Cole was so popular the producers kept him on. Once the 'source of all evil' Cole married Phoebe (Alyssa Milano) and switched between good and bad.
Producer Brad Kern says Julian's exit was, 'a mutal decision', but Julian reveals he asked to be released from his contract.
"Now I'm excited about getting back out there and auditioning - something I haven't had to do in 10 years," says Julian, adding that he's keen to explore offers in Australia.
Though he's been married twice - once to Dannii Minogue - now the only girl in his life is his two-year-old daughter Madison.
Cole's best moments
He's a very bad boy, but we'll surely miss him. We especially loved Cole's:
Split personality
Beats us how he managed to do all that freaky face-switching from nice Cole to devil-facd Belthazar, before Phoebe finally twigged that he was truly evil.
Efforts to be good
With a white witch for a girlfriend, Cole was stuck between a rock and a hard place. He really tried to be a good boy, but we knew that sooner or later he'd turn dark again.
Dining room demon conferences
After Cole's promotion to being the source of all evil, he used to enjoy inviting his demonfriends over for a round-table conference - stupid, really, when Phoebe's family kept dropping in without knocking.
