"I wouldn't want to mess with her," Profiler star Julian McMahon says of the wealthy hooker Kimberley Davies plays in an upcoming episode of the series.
"She's one sick puppy", Kimberley agrees, laughing.
In the current series of Profiler, Kimberley, 27, has a guest role as a top businessman's wife who decides to become a callgirl.
"She's not the nicest person on the planet", adds Julian, 31. "We're investigating a bunch of serial killers and Kimberley plays the girlfriend of one of the suspects".
For Julian, it was a buzz working with Kimberley in LA, as the two became friends, when she first moved there in late 1996, even sharing an apartment together."I had nothing to do with her getting this role though", Julian explains. "I'd suggested her earlier for another part, but for this role Kimberley was just called and asked to audition. "She rang me later and said, "Guess what? I just got a guest role on Profiler".
Kimberley's episode will screen on the Seven Network later this year. The wisted wife she plays, Jennifer, is convinced her husband no longer loves her, so she goes looking for some excitement, becomes a hooker and gets herself a string of boyfriends.
"She does it basically for the attention and the thrill but soon finds ahe gets a lot more than she'd bargained for", Kimberley explains.
When Jennifer realises that someone is trying to kill her boyfriends, she is desperate to know who loves her so much they would kill for her-and is shocked at the truth.
While Jennifer is hardly someone you would want to spend too much time with, Kimberley says she had a lot of fun playing her.
"I really loved the part and it ended up being a couple of weeks work", she adds.
"Julian and I had a couple of scenes, which was fun, because we've never worked together before.
"He was really wonderful, showing me around, and the whole cast was grat. I'm sure it helped a lot because they knew I was friend of Julian. They all just love him".
Both Kimberly and Julian are on tenterhooks at the moment, anxiously awaiting the outcome of a few major decisions to be made this month.
Julian gets to hear whether the US network NBC will go ahead with another series Profiler, as he still has a few more years of his contract to go.
"It's anybody's guess what the decision is going to be", he says. "It's not a top-20 show, so there are no guarantees- especially as a lot of high-rating shows are going".
And with his first child due to arrive in the next few weeks, Julian would be happy to stay home and be with wife Brooke and their baby.
"I hate leaving home now. It's hard enough just knowing the baby will be here soon. Once it arrives, I think I'll be saying. "No, I don't feel like leaving to go to work thanks, I think I'll just stay here!"
As for Kimberley, while her new movie Psycho Beach Party is being shown at the Cannes Film Festival this month, she'll be back in the US waiting to hearword on another film. But she's really hoping to land a project that would bring her back home to Australia for a few weeks.
"I've auditioned and have already had one callback, so it's looking pretty good.
"I've been very lucky this year-with Early Edition, Ally McBeal, Psycho Beach Party and now Profiler. But I want to come home", Kimberley says, adding that she really misses her family in Australia. But home for now is the US,and her husband, former model and now medico Jason Harvey, is committed there, too.
"Jason has just signed on for another five years at UCLA (University of California at Los Angeles), so we'll be here for a while yet", she says.
With work offers pouring in this year, Kimberley says she's just enjoying being so busy. "I loved doing Ally McBeal. I'd heard it could be kind of intimidating going onto a show like that, where the cast all know each other so well, but everyone on Ally couldn't have been nicer. "Calista Flockhart was really lovely to me and it was great catching up with Portia De Rossi again".
Kimberley and Portia used to model together and were with the same agency when they were 17.
"We used to do the Target ads", Kimberley says. "She hasn't changed, except for her American accent, which I'm sure she finds easier to stay with, as she has to do it every show".
Kimberley says she and Jason have plenty of Aussie friends in LA. "I regularly see Gabrielle Fitzpatrick and Eliza Szonert-there are Aussies everywhere.
"I went for an audition the other day and found I was up against Sophie Lee and Sarah O'Hare!"
