"Julian And Brooke Break Up, Then Make Up"

As Julian McMahon faces the pressures of fatherhood, fans fight to save his job on Charmed.

It seems that Julian McMahon is leading a charmed life once again -- despite rumors that his marriage to former Baywatch star Brooke Burns was cursed. The couple are now working out their differences and Julian plans to spend his upcoming break from the hit TV Series Charmed cocooned with his wife and nine month old baby Madison. Insiders point to baby business as the reason for the relationship crisis, a situation that any first time parent can relate to.

'Soon after Madison was born, Julian seemed very stressed,' a source says. 'He wasn't getting any sleep and was shocked how little time alone he ahd with Brooke. Like any new mum, she was very much into the baby.'

On top of becoming a father, Julian, 32, heard what all new supporting dads dread - that he was about to lose his job. His Charmed character Cole Turner was going to do a disappearing act, sending the actor already soaring stress levels into overdrive.

'He was really bummed about being written out of the show,' continues the insider. 'But then word leaked out and all of a sudden the network was deluged with e-mails from his fans to keep him on the show. So now the producers are in talks with Julian to make his character a permanent addition. They had no idea that he had such a following.

'The fan response was such a shot in the arm for him, and now everything has settled down. He and Brooke are getting along much better.'

Recently Julian was in high spirits attending a Hollywood party with mum Lady Sonia.

'Fatherhood is wonderful,' he declared. 'Except my bank account has been depleted and she poops every couple of minutes. I'm the fastest diaper changer this side of I don't know what!

This newly acquired skill aside, Julian says that becoming a dad hasn't changed him as a person, although as with most parents baby making does bring major life changes. Asked where his stunning wife was, the actor confessed:

'Brooke's at home taking care of the baby. You know, you've got to start taking turns with these kind of things.'

Brooke, 22, is Julian's second wife, after his doomed marriage to Dannii Minogue.

Committed to his career in America and making his relationship work, the actor is pulling out the stops to charm his producers - plus of course his gorgeous co-stars Shannen Doherty, Alyssa Milano, and Holly Marie Combs. And he remains optimistic they'll continue working together, for the time being at least.

'They're all fun girls,' he says. 'I think we'll go into a fourth season.'
