Proud papa-to-be, Profiler star Julian McMahon knows the sex of his unborn baby, but he's sworn wife Brooke Burns to secrecy, so they can show off their bundle of joy to the whole world in June.
The 22 year old Baywatch Hawaii beach babe is all aglow in her seventh month of pregnancy.
'Julian and Brooke are constantly out buying baby clothes,' says a source. 'Julian's picked the bassinet himself and he's taken complete charge of decorating the nursery at their home in Hollywood Hills.
'He's so cute with Brooke! He waits on her hand and foot and worries about her like a mother hen! He even offered to install an elevator in their home so she wouldn't strain herself going up and down the steps!'
Although Julian is devoted to his wife, he has put his foot down gently but firmly about not telling anyone whether their unborn child will be a boy or girl.
'You won't see Julian blurting out the sex of his baby like Warren Beatty or Michael Douglas. He does everything very methodically -- whether its his career or his personal life,' reveals a pal of Julian's.
'It's just killing Brooke, because she's so close to her family in Texas that she's just dying to tell them their child's gender. But Brooke has made a promise to Julian and she plans on keeping it.'
But that doesn't keep Brooke from positively spilling over the excitement about her life with Julian as an expectant mum.
'I'm just so happy!' she says.
'I still can't believe it's true sometimes -- that Julian and I are husband and wife. I've always wanted to have six kids. My mum is like: "Have this one and then we'll talk again." But Julian is going to be an amazing father.'
And Brooke is determined to be a normal mum, despite her successful career and TV commitments with Baywatch Hawaii.
'I haven't been really auditioning for anything else since we got married. I wanted to take six months off to be with him. To be at our house, hide out with him! That's my vacation time.'
Says a source: 'Brooke may have her own career, but she's an old fashion girl. Julian's found the woman of his dreams. He said just last year that he didn't know how he could ever marry again, especially if he and his partner had separate careers. But as he got to know Brooke, he realized he could have it all with her. She's quite a contrast to his ex-wife Dannii who lived in London while she and Julian were married.'
Brooke says: 'I'm content letting Julian shine. I believe in putting family first. I act for fun and he does it because it's his life!'
